I'll tell you what, that Y is one legit hike. Everytime I hike it, it seems harder than the time before. Maybe because the first time I was an energetic freshman, the second time I was pregnant and this time I had a 27 lb monkey strapped to my back. I think I hiked the majority of the way bent over at a 90 degree angle and stayed that way until the next day. But it was worth it. Especially hiking at sunset, I stopped at every switchback to take a picture of the ever changing sky, it was spectacular. The kids had a great time with their cousins and beat us to the top, by like 20 minutes. Jayden was first, no surprise knowing his competitive nature. I only made it to the base of the Y, but no shame in that. The amazing thing about hiking is that the minute you make it to the top you almost forget just how hard you worked to get to that point {almost}. I could have stayed up there all night, mostly because I was worried to stand since my legs had turned to jello. Kylie hung out with us on the way back down (and even gave Maddox a piggy back ride to give Jason a break) and we had a great conversation about how good it feels when you accomplish something hard. I loved this night and I love this little family of mine.

So many things I miss about Provo. I wish we had made it up there. Next time. Your kids sure are troopers. I'm impressed with their hiking skills. I'm even more impressed that Kylie had the energy to give Ryer a piggy back ride on the way down. You go girl!
