The itsy-bitsy Ryder is not so itsy bitsy anymore
Hard to believe a year ago I was sweating through contractions in Julie's car as we ran red lights on the way to the hospital and now here he is. This boy of mine who is the size a small man, has a laugh that can only be described as the love child of Spongebob and Fran Drescher (it turns heads in check out lines and is a legend in Sunday School), has to hold his own spoon before he'll let me feed him, reaches out to anyone with open arms, will only let me snuggle with him right before bed and waves to Dada everytime he leaves for work. We celebrated with a few presents, mostly for tradition sake since there is no short supply of toys in our house. These flip flops were mostly for my sake, though. I was on a mission to find pedi-peds when I came across these bite sized Reefs and style won over comfort. It only took him like a week to figure out how to walk in them.
We went camping for his birthday, but that deserves a post all on its own. This post is all about Ryder. Eating his birthday cupcake wasn't the novelty I thought it would be, probably because he started eating sugar at like 6 months. Remember how that whole 4th child thing goes? He did like the way the frosting squished in his hands, though.
Happy birthday to my 26.2 lb and 31 inch tall little package of pure energy and happiness. Ryder, we love you!!
