First milestone

I usually get so excited to let my babies experience food for the first time and once they hit 4 months I've got the bib on and rice cereal a la carte ready to go.  This time is different.  Maybe it's because I'm in denial that my baby is growing up, or maybe it's just because I'm lazy.  Either way, today was the day.  He didn't know what to think and his expression says it all.  I don't blame ya kid, it looks pretty nasty.

I found this self portrait on Jason's phone.  She's a rockstar and she knows it.

It was a good idea. in theory.

What you see are 28 kids camped out in the back yard for a Halloween movie party.

What you don't see are 28 kids running around screaming for 45 minutes while we try to figure out how to set the projector up.  What you don't see is the mound of dishes in the kitchen from making all of the halloween goodies.  What you don't see is the knee that got sliced open from the trampoline spring.  What you don't see are the little kids crying because the movie "Hocus Pocus" was too scary.  What you don't see is the 3 different movies we have playing throughout the house in an effort to try to please everyone.  What you don't see is the ant infestation from all the smashed up cookies on the lawn.  But also what you don't see are the smiles on all of the kid's faces as they laugh and giggle in their sleeping bags with their friends. What you don't see are the hugs and thank you's from Kylie and Jayden who think that, for the time being, I am the best mom ever.  Forget all the chaos, it was such a fun night and I would do it again in a heart beat (except next time we would have it all set up on time and actually preview the movie first :).  I love the holidays, crazy and all, and hopefully this can become a new tradition.
It's that time again

Soccer season 2011.  Actually it's halfway through soccer season 2011, this is just the first game I've gone to, sad. This time Kylie opted out for year round dance instead and is loving it.  I do miss watching her play, but it's kind of nice to not have to spend our entire Saturday on the fields.  I am loving watching Jayden tear it up out there, though.  This is the first year that they're finally getting the fundamentals down.  They actually stay in their zones instead of all swarming around the ball like bees to a hive.  I unknowingly dressed these cute little fans like twins and how cute are they??  Here's to another great season, go Bulldogs!

Four (and a half) months

26.5 inches (90%)
17 lb 4 oz (75%)
head 17 cm (75%)

Still sleeps like a champ, eats enough to maintain that perfect figure, smiles at any one who glances his way, belly laugs when I nibble on his collar bone and makes me say words like "chunkity monkity" and "poopsie pants". Definately a keeper, glad he's all mine.

Thirty six

Happy birthday to my other birthday boy...

We started the day with his favorite cinnamon rolls. Then he quite enjoyed {insert sarcasm} his only present of boring old work clothes that he picked out two weeks ago and has been wearing ever since.

(too bad everything but the birthday boy is in focus)

He is the complete opposite of a diva on his birthday, he prefers low key but I still tried to prove him wrong when he insisted that his birthday is just like any day.  The kids helped me surprise him with a candle light dinner and I think he liked it. Air Supply playing in the background was an added bonus.

Happy birthday, Jason!  You know I love you and your cute booty too.

Three

to this devilishly handsome and devilishly rotten little man,who thinks he has been 3 for the past 6 months and now that it's finally his birthday he tells everyone he's 2 :

We started the day with this:

and he loved all his presents, especially this: (and the dollar store trumpet that he calls his frute)

he spent all day playing in this:

(and all night):

(and even the next day-with the frute):

then we went to the movies to see this: (I pity whoever doesn't live by a dollar theater. and no it's not creepy or weird to bring a camera into the theater.)

then we came home to have a pizza party and eat these: (how did I ever survive without pinterest?)

and then have a movie party and campout on the trampoline:  (Everyone slowly trickled in throughout the night, except Jayden, he outlasted everyone.  That doesn't surprise me one single bit.)

What a perfect little three year old birthday for my little NaNa.  I love everything about you, the way you are fiercely protective of me, how you are obsessed with the Strawberry Shortcake movie, how you tell me you love me in your heart in your belly, how you twist your little pointer finger in your snuggles when you fall asleep, how you watch Bob the Builder every morning when you wake up and sometimes I even find you awake on the couch at 1am asking to watch it, your little lisp when you say your "S's", how you love to do cannon-bobs in the pool, the way you end every sentence with "mom" when you're talking to me, how you always have to climb on the counter put on your "acorn" and get my "cooker book" to help whenever I'm cooking, how you remind us to pray for the baby in my tummy every prayer even though Ryder's 4 1/2mo old, or how you think butter knives are just pretending to be real knives, your squeaky little voice when you wake up, how you put your food in the fridge everytime before you eat it, how you sing Kesha to Ryder during sacrament meeting, and how you can't go to sleep until I tickle your face and sing you "twinkle, twinkle little star" and "you are my sunshine".  Yes, I love everything about you, but especially your smile:  (I loved this shot that I saw on none other than pinterest, but seriously I thought I was going to puke up a sunshine cupcake, I am way too old for spinning.)

your laugh:

but mostly this. oh be still my heart.
