It's official

We decided we were a camping family, for all of one week. Then we sold the trailer and closed that chapter in our life. Then we thought that we should become a quad family because the Hererra's looked so cute riding their quads with matching helmets. That lasted for about one day before we remembered that we sold the utility trailer to buy the camp trailer so we would have nothing to tow them with. Then we decided to settle on Jason's long time dream of becoming a boating family. And that's just what we did. After spending every spare moment on Craigslist we found one that we loved and Jason surprised the kids after their soccer games today. We all had soooo much fun cruising around for about 15 min, then....

.....this was the beginning of the end.
My hat flew off while Jason was giving me driving lessons and when we went back to get it he turned off the engine. When he tried to start it again it wouldn't go. We sat and drifted into rocks and got lodged in the grass reeds with Jayden crying because he wanted a different boat, Kylie stressing out that we would be stranded there forever and Maddox crying because he wanted to take a nap. We finally flagged down Cowboy Ron who was so nice to help us out. After tinkering with the engine and telling us that we would need a new fuel pump ($$) he was so nice to tow us 2.3 mph with his little fishing boat for about an hour before a bigger boat came to the rescue.

We finally pulled back into the docks when Jason decided to try it again, and wouldn't you know, it worked. He must have (hopefully) just flooded the engine. We decided we didn't want to let our 2 hour ordeal spoil a perfectly good lake trip, so we headed back out. We didn't have time to bust out the tubes, but we did have "Party in the USA" on maximum volume. Kylie danced her little heart out. We got to watch a pretty sunset. Jason was as giddy as a kid on Christmas morning. Maddox finally got the nap he had been begging for. And Jayden decided that he wanted to keep the boat afterall. It was a good ending to what could have been a not so great adventure.  That is until the whole pulling the boat onto the trailer fiasco where Jayden was so kind to remind me every 2 min that I didn't know how to drive the boat. So emberassing that I couldn't get it on and some stranger had to swim out and help me.  Let's just not talk about that. So here's to many more memories as a new boating family :)

Check out her toned arms. so jealous.

And plus I think Jason looks hot when he drives the boat.

Thanks Angie, no wonder you had so much fun at Lake Powell :) And Margaret, it's a Wellcraft ski/wakeboard boat so let's keep our fingers crossed that you'll be here for rotations, we would have so much fun! (I'm sure wakeboarding would be a great stress reliever for Tyler, right?)

That first picture is the cutest thing EVER! You've got to watch for some photo contest with a theme that it would fit under. It's a winner! I'm so glad you guys finally figured out what kind of a family you are. You crack me up! It looks like everyone had a blast in spite of the all the drama. I can totally picture me and Ricky in the same roles with the boat loading scene. You'll get it figured out! Until then, thank goodness for nice strangers:)
