Worth it?
I was busy getting my domestication on
and Maddox was busy flooding my kitchen floor so that he could recreate George Washington's crossing of the Delaware River
besides the Mississippi running through my kitchen, it was 6 1/2 long hours, $54, 6 games dumped out, 500 pack of straws scattered throughout the house (twice), Elmer's glue poured on the floor, 5 toy baskets dumped out, 10 tinker toys broken in half, and one launch pad consisting of every pillow in the house piled on the stair landing. Remind me again why every Fall I feel the need to get intouch with my inner Martha and stock my shelves with mason jars? Especially when Kylie and Jayden come home and tell me they don't even like peaches. I think this is why Costco was invented.

Worth it, well worth it:) I still have never canned. I don't think the assistance I gave as a kid when mom did her canning really counts. I wish I lived by someone more domestic then I so that I could learn how. Costco could never top a jar of fresh canned fruit. Your kids are very lucky and someday they will realize that. Don't give up:)
I haven't ever canned either, so I say worth it. Cuz I'm jealous.

Oh....and the photographer is pretty dang awesome herself! I saw a quote on pinterest that said something like telling a photographer that they must have a really good camera is like telling a chef they must have a good oven. So I don't want to overlook that you have got some mad skills and are taking some amazing angles and shots!!! Good job!
You are so funny, Marisa and thank you :) I have the Canon Rebel T1i and I've been happy with the kit lens so I haven't bothered buying a new one, I do have a telephoto zoom lens that I love too. You take great pictures too, what do you have?
This will be the extra push to get Bret to upgrade me :). I have the Rebel XTi and use the kit lens and also the telephoto, too. But yours are so much cooler than mine! I need to practice more. I even took a class through UVU but need to the intermediate one. I desperately am pining away for the 50mm one for portraits. But maybe I'll just upgrade my whole camera instead :) (at least a girl can wish).
Do you shoot in manual?
I have heard there's a big difference in the older kit lenses, and you can always sell your old camera and put that towards the upgrade :) I think you can get great deals on the T1i since they have two newer versions out already. You could probably even get a used one for cheap. I'm still such an amature, I think it would be fun to take a class but for now I love that I can google anything!
I love that you are canning! It made me laugh at all that was going on in your house while you were doing it, sure brought back memories! Yea, it is worth it :)
