Dance Fever

This past weekend they had the cutest "sweetheart family dance" at Kylie's school. Unfortunately Jason couldn't join us since he was busy tearing it up with his friends on the slopes in Utah, but that didn't stop us from partying. Kylie was so excited and had her outfit and hair planned out for weeks. She was so cute as she brought her make-up kit into the bathroom so that we could get ready together--fun girly bonding time. We got there and I had a hard time convincing Jayden to eat first because he was dying to shake his booty on the dance floor. Kylie took a little time to warm up, but once she found one of her friends from her class, she couldn't stop dancing. It was fun teaching her the dances to songs like "YMCA", the chicken dance, the "Macarena" and other classics. I also took the kids to see "Enchanted" this weekend and it lived up to all our expectations, what a cute show.
We had a fun weekend, but we definately missed Jason! We especially missed him when Kylie found a scorpion in the toy room and I was the one responsible of killing the creepy thing. We've been scorpion free for a year now so when Kylie told me there was a scorpion on the floor I thought it was probably just an earwig. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. She had been crawling on the floor and just about put her hand on top of it, thankfully she's got "eagle eyes" (as she proudly claims).

Jayden was cute, the other morning he was watching me put on my make-up and after a minute he said, "you look so nice and shiny mom! Nobody else looks nice and shiny, only you." It was the sweetest compliment ever.

Today I went to Kylie's class for her student-led conference. It was really cute to see all of the things that she has been working so hard on, I was really proud of her. I think my favorite, though, was a page in their class book titled "My Pocket". Each person drew a picture of something in their pocket and wrote a sentence about it. Some of the kids included things like a flower, toy car, rock, etc. When I got to Kylie's I had to laugh when she wrote "I have a 'hotel kredit kard' in my pocket".

Spring break is coming up and I'm looking forward to just hanging out with the kids!

Nice moves! I guess a good booty shakin' runs in the family! Looks like you guys had tons of fun. I hope it wasn't too spoiled by feeling pukey! Sorry you are feeling so sick. I would say it isn't the old age Jame, more the fact that you now have 2 other kids to look after plus all the activites that come with that! You are doing just fine; nap as long as you can, you deserve it! Love you!

Your kids are the cutest. I can't believe you had a scorpion in the toy room out of all places. We have been scorpion free in this house so far but our old house we found about 5 of them when we lived there. I hate scorpions SO much! I love Jayden's comment about you being shiny. Tanner always says, "Mom, you're so beau-ful, you smell good." There is nothing like a boy that loves his mama, they turn out to be the best husbands :)

Ugg! Hate scorpions! I am so glad they found it before anyone got stung! I hope that was the end of the buggers! I would have some other husband come over to handle that aweful thing! I know I am a wus but you are the bomb for taking care of that creepy crawly!

Man! Your kids have mad dancing skills! They must take after their dancing momma! What a fun night! I love the shiny comment too! You are shiny Jamie. Everytime I see you, you look all put together and nothing is out of place. Unlike me, still in my pj's and needing to take a shower but hey it is only 3:30 in the afternoon! :) BTW-Did I mention you have the cutest kids too!

What a fun family activity! I'll really want to try and do something like that here. Too bad Jason had to miss out. I'm sure he was having a blast though. I love that Kylie had her hair and outfit planned out for weeks ahead of time. The question is, have you made up a calendar for her to plan our her outfits for the whole month? Like mother, like daughter:) Those video clips are so great. Those kids got moves! I agree with Jodee, that booty shakin' runs in the family! Glad the scorpion scare ended as well as it did. Sorry Jason wasn't there to slay the beast. That's one thing Taylor's already said that he's scared of if we move to AZ - the scorpions. I love the "hotel kredit kard" in Kylie's pocket. So cute! Parent teacher conferences are so fun! Jayden's adoring comments about his beautiful mother are so sweet. I love that he thinks you are "shiny". What a sweetie! Hope you guys have a fun spring break! Maybe you can finally make it to that paddle boat place.

Awwww, he must be noticing the "glow"!! that is the best compliment EVER!! I love it. They look so spiffy, Jayden even sported a tie! What a fun party. And I am very proud of you for showing the scorpion whos boss. Next time call me. There is nothing I enjoy more than smashing the smithereens out of those evil creatures.
