The hair situation

For those of you blessed with long thick lustrous hair that can be whisked back in a ponytail while birthing a child, then this need not apply and you can stop reading now.

For those of us who yearn for those "wow, you don't look like you just gave birth!" comments but never receive them because not only does it look like you got hit by a bull dozer, but it looks like that bull dozer did an extra special number on your thin, fine, short limp hair....well, you're not alone.  Enter exhibit A (and B and C):

I KNOW!!! Snookie would be jealous, it's like bumpits gone wild (although no bumpits were harmed during the filming of this video). That is what 20 hours of labor looks like my friend and that special moment when I got to hold precious little Jayden for the first time is permanently ruined because the creature perched on top of my head is far too distracting.  This is the exact reason why when my water broke in the middle of the night with Maddox I made putting in my hair extensions my numero uno priority before rushing to the hospital. (I am quite proud of those hospital pictures, in case you were wondering).  So yes I am anxious and nervous about going into labor, I am dreading the contractions and dreading the epidural just as much, I am having anxiety attacks that something will go wrong and I have to have an emergency C-section, and right up there on my list of worries is how in the world I am going to tame this hair so I can get a decent picture.  Atleast this time I made Jason swear that he would tell me if I start looking like a freaking Who down in Whos-ville.

Yes, I know exactly how you feel. I hate all my hospital pictures-because of hair issues or because i look so tired and aweful. My coloring is off my facial expressions are weird. ugg. And I'm still trying to decide for this labor--ponytail or no ponytail?

You are so funny, I look sooo stoned after I have my babies so its for sure not my fav pictures. I am sure you will look great!

that is nothing. But totally jason's fault. I should burn the pics of my 'after' having brayden. Jer failed me miserably. I mean instead of being all googly eyed for his son, couldn't he see that I was ruining the memory of my first born baby? that i was unrecognizable with my mascara-dripping-down-swollen-face and nappy hair?

p.s. at first glance, i totally thought you were sporting a trendy topknot-- so chic and ahead of your time.

You crack me up. No one is looking at your hair with that adorable baby in your arms.

Ohhh, I so remember the anxiety you are feeling. Just when it started to get close for me I started having major anxiety. I think the more kids I have the more scared I am. I was a wreck in the hospital and then the greatest gift of peace was given to me during the delivery. It is scary no matter how babies come out, but it is SO worth it :)

You should seriously write a book. You are so good with words. This made me laugh out loud. Out of all the blogs I look at, yours is the only one I actually read.

Hysterical. I totally know EXACTLY how you feel. My post childbirth pictures got better with each baby because I made it a priority. Sure miss you!

You are hilarious! I had to read this one to Jennifer and Dylan and we were all laughing so hard! I remember seeing these pictures before but I had forgotten just how bad it was. Making the extensions a top priority with Maddox was a good call:) Good luck this time around! "freaking Who down in Who-ville" - ha, ha, ha!

Show in case- all my pics. Although this last time I half as&ed it and it shows. ha ha haaa I have no doubt you will be gorgeous and glowing!!! GOOD LUCK!!!!
