Birthday and First Day

I think I was just as happy as Jayden when his birthday finally came. For the past three months since Kylie's birthday, Jayden would climb into our bed almost every morning and ask me how many more days until his birthday then make me count each one. Everything he saw at the store he would ask to get for his birthday (thankfully he forgot every single one of them by the time the big day finally came). It was no surprise that on the morning of his birthday he came into our room at 4 AM ready to open presents. I finally convinced him to lay back down in our bed but every 15 minutes he would ask if we could open them yet. Finally I gave in at 6:45. There are no pictures of him opening his presents because we were all still laying in bed mumbling our "ooohs" and "aaaahs" while we were half asleep. He got lots of Star Wars stuff...Star Wars wii game, Star Wars legos, Star Wars ships...you get the idea. Once we rolled out of bed we had his requested blue pancakes for breakfast, played with his presents all morning then went out to Chic-fil-a for lunch before his first day of Kindergarten! He thought it was so cool that he got to start school on his b-day and said that all the kids wanted to be his friend because he brought cup cakes. He's going to a different school than Kylie this year so that I can repeat kindergarten so he started a little later. His teacher seems super nice and Jayden had no reservations about going. I've been excited for him since he is excited so I was kind of surprised when I got a little teary eyed when I left him sitting there in his little desk. I'm going to miss my little buddy. Who else is going to comfort me when I lose all the wii games? Who else is going to ask me if I have a baby in my tummy every time I'm having a "poochy" day (and then finally saying, "would you just tell me when you have a baby in there so I can stop asking you??")? Who else is going to eat donuts at Basha's with me? Who else am I going to drag around on errands all day with promises of ice-cream at McDonalds, only to find out the playground is closed then waiting in the drive-thru forever only to find out that the ice-cream machine is broken? Who else is going to ask me funny questions like why you can't touch your brain or how you can hide so that Jesus doesn't see you? Atleast you'll only be gone for half the day, but I sure miss you and Kylie while you're gone! After school we had a movie and pizza party then Jason and I spent the evening trying to put together the dang legos and magnexts that he got. I'm proud of everything you accomplished in this past year and I'm excited to see what new things you do and learn now that you're five. We sure love you Jayden and hope you had a fun birthday!

Happy Birthday, Jayden! I can't believe your kids are already in school. I feel for you with the lego's and maginext...they aren't the most fun things to put together!

What a fun birthday and first day of school. Heck yeah, everybody's going to want to be friends with the kid with cupcakes. What a lucky boy! The cake turned out really cute. Did you try the homemade fondant? You'll have to tell me about it. Looks like you and Jason are having a blast. What great parents!

You are a good mom to take pictures. We were so late that I took pictures at school when I picked Grayson up!! Bad mom.

I love that you and Jason were up making the legos. Too funny! He is such a funny little guy, I can see why you will miss having him around all day.
