Sad Goodbye

As a mom, there is nothing like seeing your child find the perfect friend. The kind of friend that brings out the best in them. The kind of friend that you could see them growing up with for years to come. The kind of friend that has the same standards. The kind of friend that always brings a smile to their face. Noelle is that kind of friend for Kylie. They both had a really hard time adjusting to Kindergarten so their teacher (love her!) encouraged them to play together and they have been best friends ever since. When Kylie found out several months ago that they were going to be moving she came home and broke down in tears because Noelle was her "first friend she ever had at CTA". We wanted to have a little going away party for her, so we had a couple of girls over (and our baby-sitting group and a friend for Jayden) to make home made pizza, run around and scream, make home videos, decorate a pillow case for Noelle and then make these chocolate mug cakes. It was a fun night, but so sad to say good-bye to such a sweet girl. Last week Kylie came home from school crying again because she missed her and she didn't have a best friend anymore, it broke my heart. When your kids are little it seems like it's so easy to dry their tears and make things all better. It's such a helpless feeling as they get older and no matter how much you hug and kiss them, there are things beyond your control that you just can't make better. Kylie's such a sweet girl, I know she'll continue to make great friends, but it's just sad to say good bye to her best friend.

How much fun do you guys have!!! The kids are getting so big and are cute as ever! It looks like you find lots of fun things to do to stay busy! How fun. I'm sorry for Kylie, that is always hard to have your best friend move.

Poor Ky. I totally agree with not being able to make them feel better with hugs and kisses. So hard! She is so cute, she will have lots of best friends!

Oh that is so sad. Poor girl. It makes all the difference in the world when you have those good friends you can count on!

Poor girl. That stinks! I'm sure she has lots of good friends but the perfect BFF is hard to come by. It is hard when a hug and kiss from mom just doesn't make it all better. Don't you wish we could be some kind of super hero, all powerful mom? I know there will be tears from our kids when we move and they have to leave all their friends and venture out into the unknown. You are so great to have a little going away party. What a wonderful mom you are! I'm so excited to see that you made the chocolate mug cakes even! How did they turn out?
