Politically Correct??

The conversation on the way home from school on election day:

Kylie: we voted in the election today, I voted for the girl, she's pretty.
Jayden: we got a new president at our school too.
Kylie: who did you vote for?
Jayden: Jesus. But Nicholas voted for Rock-a-bye Baby. No wait, Rock-a-bye Bama.

After trying to correct him, the closest we got was "Rock-a-bum-bum". Yeah, still trying to figure out the whole Jesus thing...

That is so sweet. Thanks for watching Tanner today. We can't wait for Jayden to come on Wed. I am so sad that my mom ended up being too sick to come tonight so they might come tomorrow. I mean I totally understand that she is sick since she has cancer but I was so sad that I cleaned all day, neglected my kids, and didn't take a shower till 5 pm because I was cleaning non stop only to hear that they aren't coming. So, maybe I will end up going to lunch on Monday. I will let you know.

Jamie,

That conversation is WAY more politically correct than the conversations we had here on election day. I don't know where my kids came up with the things they did. Maybe I'll post about it. It boiled down to this: Hayden voted for McCain because "the other one was really ugly." Logan voted for Obama the first time because "he is black and sometimes people are mean to other people just because they are black and that is not right." The next time he voted for McCain because "that is the one who should win." Kids!

We have some interesting conversations with our kids around here too. Oh boy, the things these kids say...remind me to tell you our airport story. Embarassing!

Love the post on Kylie too.

That is so cute! Rock-a-bum-bum...it's catchy:) I like Kylie's reasoning for her voting. You'll have to let us know if you figure out the Jesus thing. What cuties!

Madison came home from school chanting "bo-bum-a" over and over. I guess other kids did too and some parents called in to complain to the school- seriously, relax people!
