Fall Break Cali Style

It's been a few years since we've been to California and we were itching for some beach days. We also had another reason to go to California, Jason has been on the hunt for a new boat and scored a killer deal on a boat in Huntington. He was like a kid at Christmas and couldn't wait to go visit his boat in person, so he dropped us off at the hotel then he and Jayden went straight to the dealership. Thankfully our hotel was right on the beach so we got to stretch out our legs and play in the waves after the long drive. It was a little colder than we would have liked and Ryder and Maddox kept taking turns crying and whining about being cold, or crying and whining because the other one was too cold and wouldn't go play with them. We've had better days at the beach, but thankfully there were a few golden moments sprinkled in there that made it worth it.

After hot showers we headed out for dinner and to explore the pier. We settled on mexican food, based solely on the fact that they had an air hockey table in the dining room. We walked the pier, watching the fishermen bring in their catch and settling on $3 shark tooth necklace as souvenirs.

Jason finally came back (the proud owner of an official Mastercraft binder that he poured over all night ;) and told the kids he would take them to the hot tub. I was about to settle in and enjoy a quiet hotel room when they called me and told me I just HAD to see the hot tub. Little did we know that it was on the roof of the hotel and had the prettiest view of the ocean and city lights. We had the whole place to ourselves and it was the perfect ending to our first day of vacation.
