 Staycation

Can you call it a tradition if you just started it last year? Why yes, yes you can. So this is our 2nd annual traditional back-to-school staycation. Last year we were itching to fit in one last little getaway before we turned our children over to the mercy of the public school system. This year I had barely unpacked from our reunion, let alone Vegas, that I wasn't quite ready to pack up again, but I'm glad we ended up going. Since Jayden was still gone we let Kylie invite her friend Sara. We spent the day at the pools where Kylie and Sara entertained the guests with Sara's feet over the head trick. The boys went down the slide approximately 57 times and I sat in the shade finishing "Truly, Madly, Guilty". The boys were happy when Jason met us after work and actually played with them. It's nice to have one fun parent. He even let them break the rules and stack the tubes three high while going around the lazy river. We ate dinner at Barro's then the girls stayed up in their room dreaming of Cameron Boyce and memorizing every line to "It's Everyday Bro". We just sat in our room watching Food Network. The boys woke up early ready for donuts, swimming and mini golf while the girls slept the morning away. The boys were so excited that I actually got in the water, Ryder didn't know I even knew how to swim.  We then ate cold pizza then headed home. And that's the story of our 2nd annual staycation.
