Kylie has always been sensitive and has a soft spot in her heart for those in need. It's one of the characteristics that I really admire in her. Recently an 8 year old boy in our ward was suddenly diagnosed with a cancerous tumor, which was discovered after it had ruptured. Needless to say, it has been a heartbreaking ordeal for the family, but it has been good to see the ward and community pull together to help them. They sent a letter home from school saying that this past Friday (which was his birthday) was going to be free dress day where the kids can wear non-uniform clothes if they bring in money to donate to the family. As I was helping Kylie pick out her outfit the night before, I told her that I would put the money in her folder to take to school. She replied, "actually mom, I was thinking that I wanted to use my own money from my piggy bank, I think he would like that more". I couldn't help but tear up a little bit as I watched her dig through her bank and without hesitation handed me $1.37 in change, which was no small sacrifice considering she doesn't even get an allowance. Thanks, Ky, for your selfless example!

That is so sweet. It made me teary eyed as I read it. That Kylie is one special girl with a heart of gold. It's no wonder she's so thoughtful and generous; she has parents that have taught her well and set a good example. I LOVE that collage of pictures. You got some great shots! I just wish I could give that girl a big hug and kiss. Give her one for me!
That is really so sweet. I am amazed at how much love comes out of such trials. My girls were feeling the same way, especially Makenzie. She told me a hundred times that we needed to donate money and wanted to give him her money, too.
Looking good, Jamie!!:)
What a nice girl. I love that kids at any age are really heart felt about these kinds of things. They just know in their heart that they want to help and want things to come from them. I love her pictures.
Tears from me too! That really is SO sweet. Kylie is beautiful inside and out!
It makes me teary eyed every time I hear my boys say a prayer and they NEVER forget to pray for Truman. It's amazing how compassionate kids can be.
OH, that is the cutest ever! My kids have been praying for him too, although they don't know him.
I love your last couple of posts! Ha! Poor transformer! And Jayden, wow! I bet my boys would love to see that in person!
What a sweetheart she is. She has great examples to look up to.
What a sweet girl! I agree with Janessa, it's because she has such wonderful parents that have taught her to be that way! Hope everything goes well for the sweet boy! Cute blog, by the way!
Sniff, sniff. That is sooooo sweet. What a darling, sweet little girl you have. What a heartbreaking story for that little guy.
Ok, maybe my hormones are all out of wack, but reading this made me start to tear up. What a sweet little girl!

Awe, Ky, you are too good for words... we miss you all!
That is so sad about the boy and his family, but so sweet of your daughter. Apparently, you guys are raising wonderful children. Doesn't that make you feel good?
