Today

Today I woke up 3 hours earlier than I had in two months.

Today I folded up the futon and cleaned up blankets from a 2 month long sleepover.

Today I cooked a "real" breakfast for the first time in 2 months.

Today I cleaned the house and it stayed clean.

Today I ate a grown up lunch that excluded peanut butter and noodles in any form.

Today I washed swimsuits and towels for the first time in 2 months.

Today I made up for taking a spiritual hiatus in the past 2 months and listened to conference
talks while cleaning a quiet house and was reminded that "our everydays will soon become our yesterdays" and was grateful that I made the most out of our "everydays" in the past two months.

Today my little buddies started school.

Today I was sad. I was glad I was sad, usually I can't wait for school to start but I really made an effort and put alot of planning into our summer and it made me sad that it had come to an end.

Today I missed them.

(However, as soon as they walked in the door they let 6 hours of bottled up energy go and the chaos that ensued made me realize that although I missed them today, tomorrow I think I'll appreciate the quiet house a little bit more.)

(first day of "real" kindergarten)

(our big third grader)

You are such a great writer!!! All I ever do is "this is what we did, then we did this, blah, blah, blah...BORING" You do such a great job though! Anyway, I love the pictures! Kylie and Jayden look so adorable and grown up. I can't believe how close they are in height! Wow! Maddox looks so cute in that family picture - "Don't mess with me!" You did so many wonderful things this summer. I'm sure your kids will look back on it with many fond memories. You'r such an amazing mom! I'm glad you were able to get your house cleaned and have another day of a quiet house ahead of you today. Give those big school kids a hug from their favorite aunt nessa!

Your house is always clean! But, it was probably nice not to juggle around other things too. I can't believe school has started already...it's only July...that is crazy! We didn't start school in Vegas until September. Anywho...I love reading your updates and seeing the cutest photos of your kiddos! They're so much fun!

Great job Jamie! I have been so sick this is the first time I was anxious for school to start because unlike you, we did not make the most of the summer because I was too sick to get off the couch :( My poor boys need some structure and I am looking forward to spending time with Tyler before we have a baby :)

I think Kylie and I have the same sandals! Did you get them at Target? If so, that is so fun! I will think of her when I wear them :)

Please tell me they don't walk to school holding hands all the time? I am really starting to question the sibling relationship my kids have... or don't have...
and wow! 3rd grade already!!! That makes me sad...

So cute, love the pic of them holding hands walking to school!! Sooo true about waking up earlier, making a real breakfast, and not eating kids lunches!!

School in July? What's wrong with Arizona! And how is your house so quiet with Maddox at home? Maggie sings/screams her little lungs out all day. btw, I met a misstionary today from Gilbert, but he did't know you. I had no idea Gilbert was the new Provo with so many Mormons.

Sweet post Jamie. I love how well your kids get along. You did a great job making summer fun. We went to the cabin this weekend and I copied your fossil idea with the kids. They loved it - thanks!
