First Day
I can still remember how nervous I would get the night before the first day of school, so I was surprised that Kylie didn't seem the least bit nervous at all. She was so excited to go back, mostly because she lucked out to get in a class with a really nice teacher and alot of her friends. She woke up at 5:30 am and was so excited to go. She had her outfit picked out for an entire week before and insisted on wearing jeans, even though it was around 110 degrees that day (okay, so I have to confess, the sweater was my idea. She really wanted to wear the dark blue shirt with the dark blue jeans and I just couldn't let her do it. Those school uniforms need as much help as they can get. Any other day but the first day I would let her get away with the blue on blue combo, but I just couldn't today. Maybe one day she'll thank me. I told her she could take it off once she got to school, but I was feeling very guilt stricken as she walked in the door after school with the sweater still on and sweat glistening off her forehead and the first thing she said was, "I'm sooo sweaty!!!" Atleast she looked cute, even if I am the worst mom. Oh, but I did give in and let her get the book bag that is twice as big as her own body). I love that she still wants us to walk her to class on the first day and will even pose for pictures. I don't know how many more years I'll be able to take a picture of her holding her dad's hand while walking to school. We love you Kylie and am glad you are enjoying school so much. I already miss having you around and Jayden and Maddox have decided that you are much more fun to play with than I am. Good luck and enjoy second grade!

you must be joking--school has started? and you have a second grader? this post made me soo emotional--carter starts kindergarten in a few weeks.
As long as she didn't die of heat exhaust, the outfit was worth it. She looks so dang cute and grown up! I was just thinking about her first day of Kindergarten. I'm so glad I was able to be there for that. I can't believe she's in second grade now. I remember how brave she was trying to be for kindergarten but you could tell she (and you?) was terrified. She looks so excited and confident in these pictures. She's grown in so many ways in the past two years. I love the gigantic bag. So, are bags cooler then backpacks this year? They must be if that's what Kylie choose:) I have not even started thinking about school stuff yet. I'll have to have you fill me in on everything. I'm glad she's got such a good teacher and lots of friends in her class. That makes such a difference. Good luck Kylie! Looks like you have a wonderful year ahead of you!
What the crap! Stop it! Stop her now! She is getting way too grown up! What happend to my little ky ky who used to pull on her belly button and do "trickies" for me? She is beautiful and looks way more stylish in that polo shirt than any of those other kids! I love you Kylie! Happy first day of school!
She looks adorable for the first day...Noelle said "if I was there I would be standing right next to her....and we would get drinks together just like the first grade!" She misses her so much!! I wish that they could still go to school together....I hope she has a great rest of the week and that she loves her teacher!!! BTW I totally would have tried the sweater too...you can never be too cute even in 115 degree weather..
Sassy little thing! She looks SO darn cute! Very stylish!
She is so cute!! Way to give in and be a nice mom about the school bag. I took Abby to one store and said these are the only back packs you can choose from....sad I know!! So what did you think of ALA? I am stressing a little, loved Abby's teacher but everything else is so dumpy!! I wanted to talk to you but Mark was dying to get outta there!!
Cute! I would never call that a "sweater" so lay off the guilt woman!
What a stylish little Diva! She looks adorable!
