Day 2: Costa Maya, Mexico

Ahhhhh, today was such a chill day. The port was pretty much a spring breakers paradise with nothing but booze and boobs and as tempting as it was to stay, we opted to take a taxi into the little fishing village of Majahual instead. We got almost hour long massages on the beach, which was heaven on earth. Seriously, what could be better than laying in the shade with my honey on a beautiful day listening to the waves crash while getting arguably the best massage I've ever had? All for $20. It was enough to make me want to move to Mexico. Afterwards we walked around and ate the best homemade quesadillas and guacamole right on the beach before it started pouring down rain. It was a nice excuse to relax in some hammocks under the shade while we waited for the rain to die down. After that we rented a golf cart and drove around the little village. A huge hurricane demolished the area a couple of years ago, so everything was being rebuilt. It was so sad to see some of the living conditions here (although it was rather odd to see these teeny tiny shacks with a huge satellite dish attached to the roof or a BMW sitting in the driveway). It was just very eye opening because here we are in the states crying poor because our economy is so bad when we really have no idea what poor actually is. Our little golf cart joy ride was relaxing and uneventful until these guys ahead of us were going way to fast around a turn and flipped their golf cart. One of the guys got smashed underneath it and got really bad road rash. We took him and his buddy to the "el hospital" which looked very questionable. I felt bad just dropping him off at this hole in the wall place where no one spoke English. I wonder if he was able to make it back on the ship or if he was stranded in Mexico.... Besides that excitement, it was a much needed relaxing day!

I don't think I could ever get tired of waking up to this every morning

This teeny little church was smaller than my bedroom but they took such pride in it and were scrubbing the floors while we were there.

They have these huge iguanas roaming around (on the bottom right), I wanted to get a picture with it for the kids but it started running away when we took it and it kinda freaked me out. After that I kept my distance.

This is one of the houses that hadn't been rebuilt since the hurricane. I loved all the bright colors. I don't think you could stay grumpy if you lived in a house painted aqua blue.

The beach at the port was really rocky, but they had beautiful white sand beaches in the village. I used to think the beaches in California were so pretty, but there is no comparison. The color of the water is amazing and it is so clear and warm.

Notice the red face and nice burn line on my arm. Like I said, nothing but pure, unfiltered hotness.

I love finding little towns like that with cute churches and quaint homes. That burn looks like it hurts! Hope you found some aloe plants along your journey!

What a beautiful place! The beach is picture perfect the little church is so neat and the living conditions are something else. Your poor sunburn looks miserable. Good thing you had cheap hotel lotion waiting for you on the ship:) You still look H-O-T, hot. That golf cart accident sounds exciting. You never found out if the they made it back on the ship. Do they do a head count before they leave? I need some clarification here. You said, "Besides that excitement, it was a much needed relaxing day!" Didn't you just spend the whole day before that laying by the pool, playing Yahtzee and eating??? Life can be rough. Good thing you had such a relaxing day:) Can't wait for more updates.

How Fun!! And I just have to say, when I first saw the picture of you crouching down below the iguana, I thought you were trying to imitate it. Then with your matching outfit... who would of thought you would be matching the iguana?? So funny... at least I thought so. Yeah, definitely "I'm too sexy!" Jamie!! haha
