Easter 2018
It's sad how few pictures I got on Easter this year, not even the traditional kids in their Sunday best. But we did have a wonderful whirlwind weekend. The kids had barely started school back up after spring break and we had barely gotten settled back in after our Hawaii vacation when we packed up again and headed to the condo. The kids had Good Friday off, or so we thought, so the plan was to go up Thursday evening and spend the long weekend there. Kylie realized a couple of days before that she didn't get the day off and so we were bummed to not be able to go up until Friday evening. Saturday was spent watching conference, doing puzzles (ahem, mom doing puzzles), pizza, movies, games, decorating Easter eggs and Jason working on handy man projects. The kids were pretty stir crazy by the end of the day, as wonderful as conference weekends are, they can be challenging too. Sunday was Easter and in typical fashion Maddox and Ryder were up at the crack of dawn just dying to find their Easter baskets. This was the first year I didn't make them wait for everyone else to get up, that would have taken too long. Instead the three of us enjoyed the morning glow and whispered in excitement as they followed their string to find their baskets. We had a caramel french toast bake for Easter brunch and caught as many conference talks as we could in between loads of laundry and cleaning the house. We were on a time crunch to make it to Tyson and Dawn's house for Easter dinner and to celebrate John's birthday. We enjoyed spending time with family and eating the most delicious ham, and I don't even like ham, but this was amazing! I wish we would have had a little more time to spend at the condo, but it was still a good weekend and being able to listen to talks about the Savior made Easter all the more special. We also had the opportunity to sustain a new prophet, which was a neat experience. It was a busy but wonderful Easter!
