Chasing Fall

Jason went home during the week to work while the kids and I spent the days chasing Fall. When we weren't making "noodling" jokes or binge watching Parks and Rec, we found ourselves having a lazy picnic in an open meadow...

....and embraced the novelty of Fall leaves.

We played the "flip the coin" game (heads turn left, tails turn right), but in a town this small the only destinations off the main street are winding back roads and charming cabins. After meandering around we ditched the coin game and opted for Margaret's dollar store game instead. Everyone picks a name then chooses a gift for that person, the kids got really into it. And then Ryder begged to go back every day the rest of the trip.

Then we made a spontaneous stop at the bakery for donuts.

Our good friends, the Romneys, have had a condo in the same complex for the past four years and have been a huge help in this process. They just so happened to be up this weekend as well and we had fun riding their Ranger on the trails and hanging out.

We had some down time with crafts, baking, Netflix, lots of Hobby Kids TV, oh and a wild game of hide and go seek in the dark. Such a good Fall break, I was sad to see it come to an end, but am excited to call this little condo in the pines our home away from home.
