The View These Days

Yes, I am STILL pregnant. No, my thumb is not covering the lens, that would be my ever growing womb which obviously my little guy has grown very attached to. I think he is quite cozy and comfy in there and would be very content gestating for another 9 months. I know the floating fetus says that I have 3 days left (which, actually it's off by a day, so technically 4), but I feel like I'm about 2 months over due. Apparently I'm not the only one, even strangers are beginning to feel sorry for me. Like the concerned Chuck E Cheese employee today who asked me if I would be okay driving myself to the hospital WHEN my water broke, or if she should call 911. Nice. I had another appointment yesterday, I was dialated to a 4 and 85-90% effaced. He stripped my membranes again (which didn't hurt nearly as bad, I didn't even let out a primal scream this time), so I thought for sure that I would go into labor that night. I was all prepared for a full night of laboring by sleeping in that morning and taking a short nap that day. I even did my laundry a whole day ahead of schedule so that the kids would have something more than just pj's to wear while I was in the hospital. I had prepped the kids that we might not be there when they woke up in the morning (a HUGE advance thanks to Chelsea for being willing to take the night shift!) and they were just as disappointed as I was to see that I was still there in the morning. I was all worried that the car seat and stroller that I ordered on-line wouldn't get here before the baby came. They have now been sitting in my living room for a week. My cute neighbor gave me a pedicure so that I would have something pretty to look at while my feet are hanging out in the stirrups. At the rate I'm going, chipped nail polish is all I'll have to get me through the pushing. My friend let me borrow "Breaking Dawn" to keep me occupied in the hospital. I've already almost finished all 754 pages and haven't even come close to seeing the inside of the hospital. Hopefully the end is near. And incase I happen to forget that my stomach is huge, here's a gentle reminder from Kylie:

Jamie, you are STILL here!! I have been thinking about you all week, checking your blog....expecting to see a post about your new baby. I was dialated to a 4 and 90% effaced with Kailey and my labor was 1 1/2 hrs. Maybe that will be the case for you:)(I hope) Hang in there!!

That picture is AWESOME!!! You will have this baby - soon. I promise! Those last few weeks seem like months and the last few days seem like years. Hang in there. Kylie's note it too cute. I wonder if she was thinking that she should inform you that your stomach is getting big just in case you hadn't noticed. What a cutie!!! I'm glad you have so many good friends to take care of you. I wish that I was there to be a part of it too...someday. Good luck!!!
