It's Not Me, It's Picasa

Several of you guys asked about the pictures I took of Maddox. Unfortunately I didn't get a new fancy-shmancy camera, but I did find my new best friend--Picassa. I've used it before to make collages and stuff, but I didn't realize all the glorious editing options. Just go to http://picasa.google.com/ and download the program. Once all of your photos have been uploaded, click on the photo you want to edit. All of the editing tools pop up on the right, just mess around and go to town. My favorites are the sharpening (the more you cick it, the sharper it gets. It's under the "effects" tool), the"I'm feeling lucky" under the "basic fixes" tools, and the "highlights" under the "tuning" tools. Once you've edited to your heart's desire, then click "hold" on the bottom left to save it in your photo tray. Once all your photos are edited, click on the "export" button on the bottom right and you can save them to a folder on your hard drive so that you can upload it to your blog. Hope that makes sense!

yeah, but your original pix are pretty good to begin with. Good job! Thanks for sharing... I'm all jealous these days of everyone's great pictures. I want to get really good at them, too!

Wow! That's awesome that you can download it for free even. You told me about it but to see the before and after pics really have me sold on it. Like Kelly said, you had some great pictures to start with. The editing makes them look professional though. My computer is having some major issues right now so I don't know if I dare download something else onto it. I don't know what I'd do if the darn thing crashed all together. I'm dying to play around with this picassa stuff though. Hmmm...we'll see. Thanks for sharing!

I was just admiring your work again before going to bed and noticed that the first two pictures aren't actually the exact same shot. It's late. I need togo to sleep rather pick out minute details that differ in a photograph. Just thought you'd be impressed with my eagle eye though. Good night!

How funny Janess, I didn't even notice. Nice detective work,
I fixed it now, though.

I love, love, love Picasa! You can even blog straight from it. Just star the pix you like then hit "blog this" at the bottom. Sooooooooo easy!!

Your pix are still amazing!

I too am a picassa fan, it't the best at getting rid of red eye too. With my blond hair blue eye kids that is a must! But I still am a firm believer in lots of natural light and NO flash!
About the link thing, when you are posting, just look at the buttons up by the font, spell check etc... and there is a button that looks like a green ball or world with a black shape on it. It is the one right next to the font color button. Anyway, highlight the word you want to make into a link in your post and then click on that button. Then type the web address in the box that pops up and voila, it's a link! Good luck!
