Camps and Cousins

This summer started off to a running start. I was really looking forward to a relaxed schedule, pancake pajama mornings, movie parties and lounging by the pool. Those days were far and few between, we managed to keep busy with basketball camp, dance, tri-weekly physical therapist appointments (for Kylie's back) and all the usual errands and day to day activities. But it has been good to stay busy. We also started the summer off with Kylie's dance recital (which I opted to enjoy in the moment and didn't take any pictures) and Jayden went to Moroni's Quest. I was so sad that Kylie missed it because of her recital, it sounds like it was such an incredible experience. This has been 10 months in the making and they put so much work into the details. It was such a testimony building experience for Jayden and really made the Book of Mormon come alive. So grateful for all the the leaders who sacrificed so much of their time to make it possible.

Kylie had the opportunity to go to EFY again this year. She loved going with her friend Addi, she also loved the hot counselor and the chocolate milk. I know there are so many inside jokes, memories and friendships created that week and some spiritual growth as well. So grateful for this program.

We dropped Kylie off at EFY then headed over to Troy and Sam's house where they were so kind to watch our boys for a week while Jason and I went to Banff. I should clarify, "they" meaning Sam, since Troy was out of town on business for most of the week leaving Sam to entertain 6 kids. And she was amazing! A week full of craft projects, swimming, splash pads, boat races, park days, ninjas, dance parties, movie parties and a wii tournament. Then they packed all 6 kids up and drove 6 hours to attend their cousin's baptism where they got to play with more cousins. I can't thank them enough, and I have a feeling this week will be one of the highlights of their summer! They had such a great time and we can't wait to return the favor and watch their kids in December!
