Adventure Day

We deemed Saturday to be our big adventure day. Tyler and Margaret brought up their jeep and 4-wheeler and the rest of us rented Rangers and set out to explore the beautiful trails. We started out at Kane Creek Canyon and made our way along the Colorado River to Hurrah Pass and ended before we got to Chicken Corners, because that was a little above our experience level. Troy got the award for being the most reckless and all the kids wanted to ride with him. Even Ryder who is strangely timid when it comes to trying new things like this. With all this testosterone we lucked out that nobody tipped, although there were a few close calls. The only damage done was some wires that Troy put back together with duck tape. These boys forgot they were responsible professional men and were living it up flipping donuts and challenging each other to do crazy stuff. It was pretty entertaining and a whole lot of fun. We lucked out to have an overcast day, it was perfect.

We spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to find the caves at Catacomb Rock. We finally found them and the kids loved exploring them, until we couldn't find Dustin. That was a scary feeling but thankfully we found him.

We had the rentals for 24 hours so we took them out for an evening ride at Fins and Things. It was so fun, a little sketchy at times, but fun. At one point we looked back and saw flashing lights. They seemed far off but they kept getting closer and we were sure it was the cops coming after us. Part of the park closes at sunset but we had moved on to the part that wasn't closed so we couldn't figure out why they were chasing us. We didn't know if we should speed up or pull over and hide with our lights off. Mady said this was the most fun and excitement she had had in a long time. We all agreed. They finally caught up to us and it was just some other people on ATV's with these flashing whips attached to the back. We had a good laugh.

We were sad to have to pack up and leave the next morning. There was still so much we didn't get a chance to do and it's always sad saying goodbye to family. So grateful for this family and the fun memories we have together!
