Here are pictures from the annual festivities. I won't lie, the pumpkin carving was a memorable experience, just not in a good way. The kids were fighting and cranky, the baby was crying, Jason didn't make it home in time, the dinner got burned....but dangit, we carved pumpkins. Thankfully the ward trunk or treat did not disappoint and was a much better start to the holiday fun.
After carving pumpkins, I thought it would be a fun family activity to make caramel apples. The extent of family involvement included me making the apples while the kids did this:

Ha Ha, I love that picture with Jayden in the sink and kylie making a fort on the counter. Sorry about your pumpkin carving experience, no one would ever know by those cute faces in the pictures!
ha! sounds EXACTLY like our experience with the haunted house, I just finished downloading that nightmare...To be continued.
I love the sink picture, too. It speaks volumes. :)
I love the forced smiles in the carving pictures. You're such a good mom to try and carry on a family tradition even when things don't work out. You definitely get points for that! My stupid computer won't open the other pictures of what the kids did while you made the carmel apples. Grrrr! I'll have to try again later. I'm sure they're good and worth checking back in on:)
HA HA HA that is so funny! I love your traditions...I love even more what the kids were doing while you made the caramel apples! Looks a little like me house! LOL!
Sound like our house. My kids get excited to start something and then I'm the one that ends up finishing while they are making other messes! Hopefully, someday they will thank us for trying, right?
Is Jayden's hair turning red? or is that residual from halloween??
I cannot believe you did pumpkin carving with three kids and no jason. You are my hero.
That is so funny! I love when we as moms try so hard, and put forth so much effort into some big fun activity, and it all blows up in our face! All we can do is keep trying. :)
