Warm summer rain

The only thing that gets us through the sweltering heat of summer is the promise of monsoons. Black clouds rolling across the sky, illuminated by the most incredible lightning show. Falling asleep to the sound of melodic rain pounding on the windows. And running through the warm rain in your underwear is just pure childhood magic. At least that's what I'm told. Some of my favorite pictures of all time are of my babies playing in the rain. It was the night before school started, we were just finishing up dinner before their Father's blessings and ceremoniously packing lunch boxes and organizing back packs when the sky opened up and we dropped everything to play in the rain. We may not have gotten to bed as early as I wanted for the first day of school, but memories like these are not some they'll soon forget. Happy last day of summer.
