Twilight

(Edward wasn't available, so we settled for the next best thing)

I was half tempted to camp out for the midnight showing, considering I'm pretty used to being up half the night these days, but thought better of it. A friend of a friend had rented out a theater for a later showing today (thanks Pam!) so pretty much our whole ward was there fantasizing about Edward (I'm pretty sure the bishop wasn't fantasizing, but isn't he a good husband to come and watch too?) I didn't want to have high expectations, so I ended up really liking it. Sure, Edward wasn't what I had imagined, but he grew on me. I thought they had the perfect Bella, I liked the movie version of her better than the book. She kinda bugged by the last book. Alice was just what I had pictured, but Rosalie not so much. But seriously, who can be as beautiful as she, or the rest of the vampires, are described in the book? Those are some mighty big shoes to fill. The house wasn't what I had imagined, but whose being picky? You can't go wrong with a good old fashioned vampire love story and a theater full of girls (and the bishop)(and this random vampire guy).

How fun!!! That's so great that your bishop came even. Had to make sure all these married ladies were behaving without their hubbys there, huh?:) Who is this vampire guy? He's got quite the costume but he doesn't look like he came from any of the Twilight books. I'm dying to see the movie and wish I could have seen it with you. Thanks for the review. I'lll try and keep my expectations low though. It's always better that way.

Jamie - I totally agree with everything you said. But I do think they could have picked better looking actors for Edward and Rosalie. I did think Jacob was really hot though, so I'm excited for the next movie. Hehe. And hopefully they'll have a bigger budget so the special effects will be cooler. Were there teenage girls in your theater? Ours was packed, and they would hysterically scream whenever Edward was on the screen. Good thing we were never like that :) I can't believe Maddox still won't take a binks - I'll pray for you!

OK, I copied your picture so I could put it on my blog :) I am pretty much going to copy what you wrote since I agreed with every thing you put. By the way I asked my sister who is a Twilight freak and got me into the book and she said the Cullens totally live in a white house, so we were right. Oh well, I loved the movie and I can't wait to see the next one. I haven't stopped thinking of Edward ever since Friday :) I loved what Janessa said about the bishop keeping an eye on the married ladies...so true...Edward is the only one who makes me feel like a giddy high school girl..well I guess I better grow up and be a 30 year old wife and mother :)

Thats too funny that your bish was there! And that vamp is kinda creepy....I went to and had lots of fun. I was the same way, kinda low expectations and loved it. I have to say I thought I wouldn't like Edward or Bella at all and ended up loving them. Glad you had fun and you look way to cute to have a new born :)

I think I am the only one on the planet who has not read the books, (gasp!) or seen the movie (gasp!) I think I'll wait till it dies down a bit. Lines just aren't my thang. How fun for you to go with all the girls though, and how awesome Bishop was there! and who is the vampire!?

I agree completely! I saw it Saturday night with Niles and two other couples. Isn't that funny that the husbands wanted to go? Niles had no clue what it was about other than vampires, so I guess I can sort of understand. The house threw me for a loop, as did some of the actors.

The teenagers in our theater weren't too bad ... only during the "passionate" scene. They were hooting and whistling and saying things like "take it all off". Kids! I'm ready for movie #2. Btw, I really like the actress who plays Victoria. I thought that was a great choice.

We saw it with some friends this weekend and I too had low expectations. I left pleasantly surprised. You are right, the Cullen house was NOT like that at all! However, Bella's house was just as I had pictured it. Bella annoyed me too in the books but was better in the movie. Edward grew on me by the end but that chest hair- ugh! He's supposed to be smooth like marble right? And I thought Carlisle and Esme were horrible. And what was up with Gorrilla Emmett, he was cracking me up... I didn't like Alice thought, she wasn't adorable like I had pictured. Anyway, it was entertaining and Ronnie even liked it! Miss you!

I really like the movie but i think you need to watch it twice. I went the first time with Michael and we both liked it but were still in book mode, i went the second time with a girl friend and LOVED it. Movie mode :)

It was a blast! It totally isn't as great as my obsessed daydreams, but it was fun to watch. And boy, did I laugh a LOT!
You are looking so cute! And your friends are adorable as well!

Jamie, I had a hard time with the first half of the movie. Edward looked constipated when she showed up in chem class and I couldn't get over how dorky Jasper looked! Couldn't they find a Brad Pitt look alike or something? I was disappointed with some of the things but then it grew on me by the second half. I started liking Edward but if you want to see a REAL man ladies, go see the movie Australia. I promise you will not have any let downs!!!! Overall I thought the movie, Twilight, was good. Check out the cast in the December's Instyle. They look really good in the layout! Enjoy!

what a fun girls night, I don't know if I could convince T to go see it- but I bet I could talk him into seeing Austrailia ( I just read comment above mine):) You look fantastic by the way- are you sure you just had a baby?

Hey Jamie, thanks for the picture. I'm not thanking you for posting my gorgeous self on here though:) I have to say, were you not dying when the racey previews were on before the movie?? I couldn't help but feel weird knowing Bishop was there. Maybe it was cause he was sitting near me, but it was unsettling!! It was good and loved the whole rented out theater! We only had to deal with 30+ year old women drooling instead of teeny boppers screaming everytime Edward came on!:)
